Damn I love the sub on that drop! This is great. However, I think it gets a tad repetitive - I would have loved to see a little more variation. Also, the lead is a little bit quiet too. Still a really good listen, good work!

Jimmypig responds:

Thanks! Yeah I had some issues with how the mix came out, but I kept trying to make it better and just made the song worse and worse, so decided to release the original. This is why you should always get your mix right as you go, not wait till the end!

This is pretty good! I do have a few things that I think could be improved:
I think the more metallic bass notes drag on a little too long, shortening them a little would give it a little more room to breathe and more of a groove.
I like how the same melody was passed through each bass, but I feel like it gets a bit repetitive. Maybe changing it up just a little bit for the second drop would make it more interesting.
Finally, I think the drums could be mixed a bit better - the bass definitely overpowered the kicks, and the clap was also a bit quiet.
Overall, good work!

CorruptModule responds:

The melody is repetitive and I was kinda sad about that but in the end, I thought it was good enough to be posted. I'm kinda bad at mixing but I'm trying to get better and any advice is appreciated. Thanks anyways!

Given the fact that it was produced and mastered like it was, its very good! Love the variation in melody and structure. The bassline does get a bit grating after a while, and there was some clipping at the beginning, but other than that, solid track!
P.S. It's been a while, how are you?

Thanks for your review mate.
I'm fine, I'm still active on discord if you want to talk.

Definitely needs mixing work. Kicks are way too loud, and snares are way too quiet. Also, some sidechain would help. I would suggest that you work on making longer melodies, since this gets very boring very fast. I like the bass though!

Skiddle responds:

This song is awful in my honest opinion. i really don't know why I even released it. It has GLARING issues.

I really love the first synth, but like Jacob said, the sawtooth is annoying, and feels like a totally different key. Also, avoid having giant pauses in the middle of a track. Nice work tho!

Skiddle responds:

I tried to make a build up but as you said it obviously failed lmao. Thanks so much for your kind criticism

Heres a tip: never post something you spent so little time on. It seems like you put no effort into mixing. With the piano melody, sometimes the chord lands on a melody note which sounds dissonant (which is great for some genres, but not for tropical house), but otherwise I really liked it. Your first pluck is too quiet. The lead that comes in after, has some notes that seem to be out of their scale. The drop is very underwhelming. The percussion in this track could definitely use some work. Lastly, it is extremely repetitive. I found myself getting bored 4 bars into the drop, and the melody stayed the same until the end of the track.

Btw, it's nothing personal, and I am being a bit picky, but if you want to improve, it's not the compliments that help, but the criticism.

Skiddle responds:

Well I only really made this when I was super bored. I know this isn't good, it's far from it. I thank you for your honesty, Vyper :)

Awesome! The genre would probably be happy hardcore or something like that given the bpm and the style of the track!
